How we do Projects in Foundation Stage

In the foundation stage we do projects with children on an individual basis. We find out what sparks curiosity and imagination in every child and create a project around it! In Nursery and Reception you will see projects on Paw Patrol, The Very hungry Caterpillar, cars, dragons and Frozen!

Please speak to your child’s teacher about their project so you can get involved too!

In Reception we have begun to introduce elements of the Talk for Writing programme. This involves telling the children a story, creating actions to help us remember key parts and then the children retelling and eventually re-writing the story.

We believe that it is really important for children to know stories and to know them really well. We also want children to enjoy the stories that are read to them and the ones they read themselves; whilst being encouraged to make up their own stories. This term we will be looking at the stories: The Little Red Hen, Jack and the Beanstalk and Little Red Riding Hood.
